A Christening Cake Fit For A Princess ?

A christening cake fit for a princess ?

Lisa Marie Cakes created a five tier Christening cake fit for a princess last weekend for her daughter Sophia Marie. The cake was a contemporary design featuring all fully edible sugar roses, hydrangeas and Sophia’s favourite toy also designed in sugar.  Using blush pinks and gold the stunning creation was a perfect photograph backdrop, and certainly provided enough sweet treats for the guests with a variety of flavours.

The cake consisted of a victoria sponge base with homemade jam and buttercream, zesty lemon with lemon curd, rich fruit, chocolate orange and cookie crumble with salted caramel. There was a little something for everyone.

Lisa creates celebration & wedding cakes on a daily basis. Each design is bespoke to each client and she prides herself on the cake tasting even better than it looks. Everything is baked from the very finest of ingredients, all locally sourced from the village of Longton near Preston.

Sophia Marie was baptised within St Andrew’s Church of Longton and the function took place at the Longton VM club. The room was dressed with a blush pink lace by Sophisticated Events of Lytham St Annes, along with ivory blossom trees. Pink and white hydrangeas sourced from Heather’s creative florist in Whitestake. T for Two bespoke stationary designed the invitations. Polka pops of Ribchester provided favour gifts for guests, with Cherish & Create balloons of Chorley.

With the array of professional suppliers the function staff has never seen such attention to detail. A slideshow of photographs took place throughout the day, a beautiful buffet was provided with extra sweet touches for the mini guests.

“Blush pinks and golds are very much on trend at the moment”

Lisa has created showstopper cakes for celebrities & is also recommended supplier to lots of Ribble Valley venues. Including Northcote Manor, Stanley House Hotel & Spa to name a few. Featured here with head chef Lisa Allen, a regular on Saturday morning kitchen.

Lisa photographed here with her daughter Sophia who clearly recognises her favourite toy! She is just a little too young to enjoy the edible version.

So perhaps the next time you plan a christening why not produce a showstopper too?

Sophia wore a bespoke Christening gown, the gown was handmade 35 years ago and was originally Lisa’s mother’s wedding dress. So the day was very special to all.
